Tom Gosling, Professor in Practice and Director of the Initiative in Sustainable Finance in LSE’s Financial Markets Group, spoke to Research for the World about the changing role of investors in the transition to net zero.
Drawing on new research with investors across major financial centres, he argues that investors have an important supporting role to play, but cannot lead the transition alone. As climate targets come under increasing pressure, the research calls for a more pragmatic approach, focused on where investors can have genuine influence and deliver real-world impact.
