This event features a conversation and Q&A session with George Robson, a Partner at Sequoia and LSE alumnus. He will discuss a range of entrepreneurial topics, including what makes a founder an outlier, paths to venture capital and what trends and themes George is seeing across Europe right now.

This lecture series focuses on the role of finance in the entrepreneurial journey. The aim is to improve our understanding of the role of early-stage financiers in the start-up and scale-up of new ventures. Discussions will touch upon several research topics like the types of constraints that limit the start and growth of new companies, and the role of specialized financiers, as well as policy, in mitigating them.

George Robson profile photo

George Robson is a Partner at Sequoia, focusing on fintech and consumer. Prior to being one of Sequoia’s first hires in London, George worked as a Product Owner at Revolut. He supports a mix of companies including Trade Republic, Mos, Telda, Two, Pennylane and the founders who join Arc, Sequoia’s early stage catalyst. George started his career in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley and co-founded Kickstart Global, a London-based accelerator.

Juanita Gonzalez-Uribe

Juanita González-Uribe is Associate Professor in Finance at the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, private equity and innovation. Her work spans different regions including Latin America, the UK, and the USA.
