A Proposal for Bankruptcy Reform in the UK

There is a widespread belief that UK bankruptcy procedures are not working well, in spite of the 1986 reforms. A recent Coopers and Lybrand report concludes that UK procedures too often bayonet the wounded. We have a proposal which we believe would improve matters. Our procedure could replace current Administration, or sit alongside it as an alternative exit route from bankruptcy.
